arpeggios to chords

I have a composition ala Philip Glass that has different arpeggios in each measure, but no chords per se in any of them. My question, is I want to automatically create a chord for each measure, but in going to file, plug-ins, add chord symbols, this aparently only applies to a stacked chord, not an arpeggio. Is there a way to establish a chord symbol from an arpeggio?
