Re: Scoring for choir
Goodness gracious, Andyg! I just saw a demo video of Symphonic Choir and wow!! That's exactly what I was hoping for! But how does it work with Sibelius?

Re: Scoring for choir
Thanks, Andyg, I tend to agree with you about the choir samples. And I have been doing what you suggested and working with woodwind and brass, but what with Siri and new text to speech software I just thought maybe there is some kind of package that works with Sibelius that could replicate words as ...

Scoring for choir
Hi there, folks I'm a relatively new Sibelius-user. Also I'm self taught so it's been a much steeper climb for me, but I love the software quite a lot. The one thing is, I've been scoring for an upcoming choral performance, and it seems to me that the choices available in the way of midi representat...

Instruments suddenly connected, help!
Hi there, I have been working on a 16 voice choir arrangement. It calls for 6 tenors, 6 baritones and 4 bassos. I have just finished writing out the score and was about to move on to add expressions and clarify things when I realized two of the baritones have connected staffs. I'm not sure how this ...

multi-rest order
Hi there, I'm putting together a score for a performance of my music on Saturday and am having a puzzling problem with the formatting of multi-rests. In one song, for example, there are 14 bars without violas. The first 6 bars represent an introduction in the song, and then there are 8 bars before t...

Yes, sorry about that. That makes a whole lot of sense! The plugin packages you linked to looked amazing, btw! Wish I were a bit more wealthy! Fredo, It is a free plugin that comes with your Sibelius, you don't have to buy anything additional! As for wondering why you would have to buy plugins, it i...

Many thanks! Yes, I have done a little plugin work before and it is indeed quite powerful! I have to admit though, I'm a little doubtful that the user should have to pay for a software's functionality. It puts me in mind of the way Media Composer software is sold - you pay a lot of money for the app...

automatic tuplet change?
I have written out some music for a violist in triplets, but she would prefer sextuplets. Is there a way to automatically change notes that have been inputted in 3s to larger groups of 6?
Many thanks in advance!

it began as a blank score. Thanks so much for your assistance! I'm really grateful! Sibelius will not cram notes like this unless it's been told to do so, ie by someone insisting it has x number of measures per line. To put in a 'line break', select the bar line and press enter. Then check to see wh...

Hello folks, I'm somewhat new to Sibelius and scoring away with it for an upcoming show. I came upon a problem that I just can't seem to figure out! I asked my friend who recommended Sibelius already, she's been a long time user of the software herself, but even together we couldn't solve this probl...

Re: changing metronome markings sibelius 6
Hello! I am a new student of Sibelius 6 and so far it's quite easy to learn and use. However I'm wanting to find out if there is a way to change the starting metronome/tempo marking WITHOUT scrapping the score and starting over. I have looked in the references and cannot find instructions in this r...

Re: metrnome marking/tempo
I think he's referring to the much longer reference document, which you can access online under HELP > DOCUMENTATION. Andy, I thank you as well, but regarding the effects I was asking if there was a tape delay effect. I'm sure that once I've mastered the program and manual Ill be able to create a so...

double time from midi tempo
Hello there, I'm editing some notation imported from a midi file which was 4/4 at 150bpm. The score should have a value of 75 per quarter note. Is there an easy way to convert this notation, or will I have to manually edit everything? Basically, I have the score in a song with 150 per quarter note. ...
