Re: If I select one note it starts duplicating that one note for many bars and stops arbitrarily.
It would probably be best to go to the Sibelius Support: https://www.avid.com/support or ask this on the official forum: https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?groupid=3 Sorry, I can't help, don't have a mac book or the latest Sibelius. I believe there have been numerous problems w...

Re: Creating blocks of lyrics/text next to staves using Sibelius Free?
Likely a tall order for the free version, as it's severely limited, you can basically only create a minimal standard score. You could try going to: Layout > Document Setup and see if the Landscape option is selectable See if you can adjust (drag) the left staff bar line or over to the right to allow...

Re: Deleting triplets
It's not a bug as such, rather Sibelius lacks a function to allow such changes easily. You've already put in the notes and ryhthms, and Sibelius has fixed them where you first said. If you then want to 'move them around', you'll have do so so bearing in mind the rythmical constraints of the score yo...

Re: Deleting triplets
Just put them in then. Unfortunately there's no magic fix for this, in Sibelius at least. Once the rhythm is in there it can be hard to break it. You would probably have had them done by now....

Re: Multimovement Instrument Change
I think the only way to do this is to add the Clarinet in Bb in Add Instruments, move (i.e. cut/paste) the Alto Sax music to the Clarinet line and use Hide Empty Staves under Layout. I played around with changing instruments as you did, and couldn't find a way to hide or remove the extra key signatu...

Re: Recovering files deleted from backup
If you're lucky the files may still be in your backups folder, given by the Saving and Exporting page of File > Preferences. If you mean files deleted from the Backup folder when your backups limit is reached you may have to use a 3rd party file restore utility (if there isn't one built in to your m...

Re: My Score is Locked!
Haven't got Review Mode in my old version, but here's what I found in the New Features list for Ultimate 2019: Review Mode.png If you can't see the status bar you could try one of the other options. You might be able to see the status bar by moving or hiding the task bar (in Windows), or fiddling wi...

Re: Will Sibelius 6.2 open a Dorico 5.1.1 MusicXML file?
I fired up my old Sibelius 6.2 program, and did: File > Open > Navigate to Music XML files > Select > Open Files in uncompressed .xml format should be recognised for opening. It didn't seem to want to open a .mxl compressed file, though, so stick with .xml if possible. Ignore the warning. Use the de...

Re: Trackpad and Text Problems on Mac
It would probably be best to contact Avid support with this issue: https://www.avid.com/sibelius/learn-and-support#Resources You could also try posting on the 'official' Sibelius forum. There seem to be a fair few gripes with the latest release. http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.p...

Re: controlling dynamics
I suppose the simplistic way would be to add the dynamic markings in the bars you want them, before and after. Select a note, CMD E. Select the dynamic using a right mouse click (or CMD ff, p or f or whatever). Escape when done. The dynamics should play back 'correctly' (according to Sibelius). You ...

Re: writting notes without a staff
You can 'hide' the staff lines by selecting your whole instrument staff (double/triple click the staff), then going to: Home > Press the 'Edit Instruments' arrow next to Instruments > Make sure the correct instrument is highlighted in the Instruments box > Edit Instrument > Edit Staff Type... > Chan...

Re: Can't change instrument name
Sibelius First is full of restrictions. Not 100% sure that renaming instruments is one, but it would hardly be a surprise. For fewer restrictions you'll have to pay to upgrade, the other (paid) tiers these days I believe are Sibelius Artist and Ultimate. Either that or try a less (or un-) restricted...

Re: Playback has extra beat after time signature change
Probably a typo but Ctrl+Alt+T is for adding a tempo mark. Use just T to change the time signature. It would be best to turn off Show Mutirests (Ctrl+Shift+M) before changing time signatures. By the looks of it you want just one bar of 2/4 before switching back to 4/4. At bar 16 seems you've ended u...

Re: Automatic jump to score start
If you mean the playback starts from the beginning, you probably want to adjust the Score Position options under Preferences. Something like Tick: During Input and Editing > Follow Selection and/or During Play and Flexi-time > Follow playback line. If you mean something else, please elaborate. Plus,...
