Retaining formatting of individual parts

I am working on an orchestra score with a friend formatting individual parts. I have my copy of the score and she has hers. We found that when we get a good formatting in our individual scores, for instance the piccolo part, when this part is then copied into a third copy of the score which we use to combine our work, all the formatting is lost when the piccolo part is copied into the third joint score.

Is there anyway to copy in a formatted part into another score that is a duplicate without losing the formatting.

We are working in different cities and the combined score is in a file share that we both have access to.

You are going to want to use the plugin "Import Export Layout" which will allow you to share layout files that can be brought into each others scores. You can find a video of the plugin in action at:
