Blank Black Screens Generated

I am having a real problem on both my Macs, with Sibelius 8. When I do certain operations (transpose, add/change instrument, use filters) Sibelius generates a completely blank black screen/window after working with it for a while I have loads of black windows - I can scroll though and get back to my score and the operation has completed, but why all of these black windows......??????
