- Sibelius Version: 7.1.3
I run Sibelius 7.1.3 on macOS 10.14.4. Lately, my computer has been informing me periodically that "'Sibelius 7' is not optimized for your Mac and needs to be updated." This is confusing and concerning to me, as I thought Sib 7 is a 64-bit application. Is my computer right, that if I upgrade to macOS 10.15 when it comes out, that Sibelius will no longer work?
Check the Avid website for compatibility. It may mean that your version of Sibelius is no longer supported in your OS. That doesn't mean it won't work, it means that if there is a problem then Avid can't help you. There's a difference.

It might also mean there is an update for your version. But probably not.

There have been a lot of complaints from Mac users, recently, about messages like this. Check you are actually using the 64 bit version of sib 7.1.3. It came in two flavours (32 bit and 64 bit) You can only continue to run the 64 bit version on newer mac OSs.
Sib 6.2, 7.5 and 2024.3.1, Windows 11, 32GB RAM, 16TB 7200RPM Storage, 2TB SSD, Note Performer 4, EWQLSO, EWQLSC, Harmony Assistant and some others. mike@mike-lyons.co.uk
