Instrument changes between versions

Can anyone help? please!?
When I try to load old sib files into 6 they will often not playback - despite going through the "loading sounds" function. When I check the mixer, all the intrument names are correct, but all are, invariably, muted. When I un-mute them I get playback, but it is all piano.
