Hi. My name is Pablo, and I'm looking for a bit of help...

I recently purchased Sibelius 8. I am having problems with the decrescendo. I place a decrescendo on a bar, I click plugin and check C11 or C7; this seems to be the only way to get the decrescendo to sound its best. After the decrescendo, the volume stays low. On the following not I input FFFFFF and yet the decrescendo volume remains The same. Any suggestions? Thanks. I do not think the regular decrescendo sounds good without clicking C11 or C7...

Hi Pablo. I've been learning Sibelius for 6 weeks and I'm suffering from similar problem. How does one get playback to recognize and respond to hairpins? Maybe someone can answer for both of us.

Sibelius will playback dynamics or midi velocities, but not both in the same piece. Forget velocities unless you are going to do the whole piece that way. Use hairpins for crescendo and decrescendo.
How are you all adding hairpins?
