Falls don't play back in Sibelius First

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

Hi, I'm a relative newcomer to Sibelius First. I'm trying to add falls to a number of notes in a score I'm writing. I've used the 5th pad on the note input keypad to add the fall symbol to the notes in question, but Sibelius just plays them back as straight notes, not falls. Any ideas?
Thanks

Falls, scoops, and doits don't work on just any instruments. They seem to work best on jazz woodwinds. Maybe some other jazz instruments as well. Remember, Sibelius is not a strong play back software. Notation is its the main thing.

If you haven't already read it, your question has been answered on the official Sibelius forum. Depends on the sounds you're using. ie Sibelius, Garritan and so on. And ditto to what Bob just said, the actual instruments being used have a bearing on this.
