How can I write the SATB parts of an Anglican Chant in short score (i.e. SA/TB on two staves like a piano part) so that I can subsequently generate midi files that have four individual lines corresponding to the four parts? I want to do this so that on playback choir members can listen to the whole choir or solo their own parts for practice, as they wish.

TIA, Chris

You could write in short score and then arrange/explode into open score, a few clicks will do that. Or write in open score and reduce into short score for printing?

Then simply ask them to mute the parts they don't want to hear in their MIDI file player - assuming that they're not just using the Windows one. They're available free on the net.
