Forcing new lyrics line on playback

When displaying lyrics in midi files (.kar or .mid) produced by Sibelius version 8 for karaoke, the lines start and end dictated by the screen. Often this is inconvenient, and result in the a new line starting part way through a sentence. If I copy the file to Serenade, a new line can be started easily wherever desired, but the resultant file can no longer be read or edited by Sibelius. So, how can I instruct Sibelius to display a new line within a verse in the lyrics?
