I am new to this forum and also to sibelius. I got the basics of usage ,but I still have a problem with playback. I have a score that changes
from 4/4 timing to 2/4 then back to 4/4 multiple times. Whenever I use the playback it always has an extra beat changing back from 2/4 to 4/4. Has anyone else had this problem if so how did you correct it.

This is not an issue I've come across before. Are you sure the TS chNge is in the correct place?
How did you create the ts change?
If you zip the file and post it here (you can't post unzipped sib files here) I can have a look at it. Problems like this are hard to diagnose 'blind'.
If you don't want to post it publicly, you can send it to me in an email. (Address in my signature.)

Here is a zip file of what I am referring to. The green timing marker is not my concern ,but if you list to the notes when it changes from 2/4 back to 4/4 timing the is a 1 beat pause. If I put a 4/4 timing mark there it changes the whole measure notes.I used the cntrl-alt-t keys to create the time signature change

Probably a typo but Ctrl+Alt+T is for adding a tempo mark. Use just T to change the time signature. It would be best to turn off Show Mutirests (Ctrl+Shift+M) before changing time signatures.

By the looks of it you want just one bar of 2/4 before switching back to 4/4. At bar 16 seems you've ended up with 3 bars of 2/4 followed by one bar of 5/4 (there's an extra quarter note/crotchet even though it's marked 4/4). Perhaps an inadvertent key press or file corruption happened along the way? All the other bars marked 4/4 seem to be ok.

To fix these two bars, I'd:

1. temporarily turn off Show MultiRests (Ctrl+Shift+M)
2. select and delete the preceding bars marked 2/4 and 4/4 (Ctrl + Backspace)
3. add 2 single bars in the same place by selecting the preceding barline then Ctrl Shift B (twice)
4. Select just the bar(s) where you want 2/4, turning it/them blue
5. Press T > 2/4 > Ok

A 4/4 (cautionary) time signature appears after 2/4 bar(s), and they should all have the correct no. of notes.

Actually where my problem lies is at measure 29-30, and 57-58. Both 29 and 57 are 2/4 and 30 and 58 are 4/4. When I use play back there is an extra beat (or pause ) after the last note in 28 and the first note on 30. The same thing happens on 57 to 58.If I insert the 4/4 marking in it changes the measure placing a rest in between the notes in measure 29-30.
