aligning notes in drum parts

Sibelius beginners can discuss all things Sibelius here ("how do I...?").

When I create a drum part using multiple voices, I can't get the different voices to align with each other. They come out slightly offset. This is creating a part using a lead sheet, not by using a score.

The information you give is not sufficient for me to be able to answer your question. Please try to write down exactly how you created the different voices and how this "displacement" of notes looks.

Thanks, Zap

Hi Zap,

Example: (lead sheet format) Bass drum part is created using voice #1 on keypad, notes are in D space above middle C. Hi-hat part is created using voice #2 on keypad, notes above top line of staff (G). The hi-hat notes are shown slightly to the right of the bass drum notes and do not align together on the beat.

Thank you!

Ah, that explanation makes it very simple!
- Always use Voice 1 for the top line (in your case HH).
- Use Voice 2 fro the bottom line (in your case BD).

You don't have to rewrite all the music you already created:
- Select the passage with the "wrong voices".
- Type Shift+V (= Shift voices)
- Done.

Now, everything should look alright.
