Well, I'm pretty disgusted!....
Just shelled out big bucks for Sibelius 4 and having horrendous problems opening my Finale 2005 and 2006 files!!......

ETF failure in opening by Sibelius, whether saved as Finale2005 or 06 ETF formats! WHY won't it open ETF files??

Plus, Finale won't save as XML (yes, I reinstalled Java 1.5, win98 - and I'm posting in the Finale forum too).

This is stupid!......so now I have to rescore ALL of my music?.....forget it, I'll stick to Finale.....and return Sibelius.

Sibelius can open ETF files from Finale 2005, but not Finale 2006 or later. You should really use MusicXML files for any file from Finale 2004 or later, as the results will be much better.

If you're having problems converting your Finale files to MusicXML, by all means send them to me and I'll convert them for you.

However, please don't blame Sibelius for Finale's problem: if you can't export MusicXML from Finale, that's nothing to do with Sibelius.

Sibelius Sucks at XML. I am having some severe issues importing finale 2007 files. All sibelius said was to wait for the next version.
