Hello,
I'd like to update to the NEW sibelius, but it seems I can only do this through a monthly subscription or paying more than €700,- at once to become a lifetime client.
Not very long ago I bought Sibelius 7 and also the upgrade 7.5. It's a little bit early to invest this kind of money again, and I don't like the Idea of a monthly subscription. Isn't there a normal update, like 7.5 was?
It seems there is for crossgraders, why isn't there for existing Sibelius clients? What should I do? I really like wahat they say about the NEW Sibelius' new features.
Update to the NEW Sibelius
Existing Sibelius users can upgrade to Sib 8 for $89. This becomes a yearly subscription fee. You have a year to decide if you what to upgrade. If you do not upgrade by August 2016, (let's say you decide to upgrade in October 2016) you will have to buy a new license, if you want Sib 8. Your 7.5.1 software will still be good if you di not upgrade. Avid is supposed to hand out updates more often now. I hope so, because there is nothing in 8 that I can use. 8 is manly for use on Windows tablets, and there are some screen resolution improvements. Many of us are waiting to see what other things that are more useful will come along before upgrading.
