Hi I want a 1st time bracket, just like the one in the attached photo that says '2nd ending' with the bracket above. Mine just has to say 1 under the bracket, it doesn't seem to have that as an option in the notations 'lines' section. Where can I find that one?

If you need this style you can use a Repeat ending (open) from the Lines list. Then Edit Text and put the 1. in the Text box. Make sure the Text Style is for 1st and 2nd Repeat endings, and finally make Spaces Right and Up the same as for the standard repeat endings, i.e. 0.5 and -2.25 respectively.

Once the line is in place you might also want to use the Inspector to check that Play on Pass is set to 1, though I think that is the default.

I guess the British do first endings that way.I don't think it's a real problem.

Ok, I've fixed that , only thing now is that the bracket doesn't appear on my individual parts pages. The number (1) appears there but without the bracket above it.

Why does the part not look like the original score in this way ?

Not sure, seemed to work for me in the extracted parts.

A problem I found was that any bar numbers after the open repeat no longer show, which isn't great.

It seems a better way to do this would be to edit the default (closed) first ending repeat. If you set Cap to None (so Hook is greyed out) then the end line disappears, but bar numbers show properly, and everything should work properly.

There is a bar renumbering function in the text tab.
