Can someone please tell me how to write German text with the umlauts and scharfes? I have Sibelius First and use it for choir scores. Thanks for your help. Jan

Well, I suppose you could get a German keyboard and use that. Or find some German text and copy and paste from that.

Otherwise (assuming you have a windows PC?) you should be able to use ALT plus character code on numeric keypad. Unhelpfully the Sibelius reference guide doesn't list these, but I Googled and found these:

ALT 0223 = ß
ALT 0228 = ä
ALT 0246 = ö
ALT 0252 = ü
ALT 0196 = Ä
ALT 0214 = Ö
ALT 0220 = Ü

Hope that works. Can't try it myself at the moment in Sibelius. Worked in Notepad though.

Great, I forgot to mention that Num Lock should be on, but obviously you figured that out yourself!

Actually I didn't even know I had the Num lock on. I've never used it! But it's a good lesson for anyone else that needs this help.
