Hi. Is there a command in Sibelius 6 to notate up and down strokes of guitar strumming? And will this be recognized in playback? Or how do you make playback sound like actual strumming? Without it playback seems very mechanical and/or robotic. Thanks most sincerely.

There's plugin called Strummer that is supposed to give a 'realistic' guitar strumming effect. I think it's already supplied woth Sibelius 6, but otherwise yu may have to download it and install from the Sibelius plugins site.

It's under Playback category. Then you'll have to use Realise chords plugin to add a fully notated chords stave and apply the strummer. This adds the d and u up/down strumming indications as text. And hopefully plays back with a decent impression of real strumming.
