I'm working my way through a score to learn Sibelius and I would like to know if it is possible to extend the beams beyond the last note as in the attachment. The score is by Ravel and he writes this sort of figure rather frequently.

Thanks, I'm a new Sibelius user and also a long time Finale user (27 years)

One way you can fake this is by adding a 1/128th note rest after last beamed note and then hiding the rest. If you select To and From Rests or Over rests from Notations > Beams, this should get the desired result. The hidden rest won't get printed, but you can see it greyed out on screen. The rest can be moved up and down to adjust the beam angle. You can probably delete all the other rests in the bar apart from the last beamed one.

One caution is that the settings will be global, so may affect other bars which you may not want. Unfortunately Sibelius doesn't have an extends beam function, unlike Finale apparently, at least not in sib 7.5.
