Can I convert a PDF score to a Sibelius score?
Thanks
Converting PDF Score to Sibelius?
Not directly, but you can use an OMR (Optical Music Recognition) software to 'scan' the pdf score and produce an intermediate file (e.g. MusicXML) that Sibelius can read.
Photoscore (Lite) springs immediately to mind, since this comes free with Sibelius and can send its output directly to Sibelius, or you can download the demo from Neuratron.com.
Other OMR's are SmartScore and Audiveris, the latter being free to use (I think). There's also PdfToMusic (Pro), but that only recognises computer-generated pdf's (not scans).
Indeed none of these programs does a perfect job (most of the time), and typically quite a lot of post-editing is needed.
