Sibelius is the only program I know whose autosave works differently to everyone else's.
Instead of bothering with it, just get into the habit of regularly pressing [ctrl/cmd]s. Every time you do this you will save the current version of the score in the backup folder. That way, you will always find a backup version, numbered sequentially, in the backup scores folder.
