In previous versions I used to be able to use ^(shift+6) to get this symbol on either major or minor chords. Now it only works for major 7ths on major chords - it gives me the "maj7" text if I try it on a minor chord.
There are various options for other chord types in the Engraving rules, but not for this (quite common!) chord.
The problem is partly that "m(maj7)" sometimes takes too much space, but also I want to be consistent if I use the delta shorthand on maj7 chords.

Try using Legacy Chord input.
