Hallo,

I use Sibelius Version 7.1.3 build 77 Audio Energie v1.0.38.16S

I have a Problem with setting notes for piano sometimes. Some notes are not played.
If possible, I would send you a small example, consisting of 2 bars, where a note is not played in the second bar. Ii is the „f“.

Kind Regards
Heribert Hanisch

You can send a Sib file, but you have to zip it first.

And remember that Sib 7 is not compatible with later Mac operating systems. This is typical of the problems caused.

And I would remove your system ID from your first post.

You need to tell us your exact version of the Macos.

OK, problem solved. You have used a tie instead of a slur in the first f in the first bar and this is causing the second f to not sound. Replace it with a slur and it plays fine.

As an aside, you have live playback and live tempo both enabled, but you are using tempo and swing instructions in the music. To an extent, the live playback options will take precedence over the written instructions. In any case, what you see may well not match what you hear.

Delete your system ID from your first post before it gets stolen! Here's how to attach a zip file: Attachments tab below here followed by add files.

I use the bow, that is in the Keypad first tab down right. If this is a "tie", there can I find a "slur"? It is not in the keypad?

I think it was my fault, to have a bow with no defined end in bar one. If I add another f to the last g in bar one. the bow has a defined end and everything works fine.
many thanks.

There is a HUGE difference between a tie and a slur.
A tie connects two notes of the same pitch, across a beat or a barline. A slur instructs the player to play smoothly (legato) whatever is under the line.
A slur can be left hanging without much of a problem. A tie cannot. It must be connected to another note of the same pitch. Effectively, the "note off " that sibelius sends at the end of every note is missing, so the next note does not sound.
To get a slur, select either the first note of the group or all the notes in the group and press s. The ends of a slur can be extended by pressing [space]. You cannot extend ties in this way.
