Hey everyone!

I'm transcribing an aria from a couple manuscripts, one of which gives a couple of variants for the ornamentation of the vocal line. One of these variants lasts through half of a bar, so I used the split measure function plus the ossia function to get what I needed. Most of it looks good, with one exception: the horns, which are resting for the entire measure, now have two whole rests in their measure. Anyone know a workaround so I can have a whole rest right in the middle of their bar? I've thought that the solution would be to hide the rests, insert a "free-floating" rest as text, and then maneuver it where I need it, but I can't seem to figure out how to access the full symbol list to insert a whole rest in that manner (I'm used to finale where you just go up to "text/insert symbol" and the whole symbol list is there).

One workaround would be to use the inspector (Ctrl Shift I in windows) to shift the X position of (say) the first rest so it's over the split barline. Hide the other rest of course, or you can even just delete it.

Or, if deleting the rest doesn't work, carry the ornamentation through the whole measure, using the real notes for the second half.

Adjusting the X values in the inspector worked beautifully, thanks for the help!

A better solution, I think, would be not to split the bar at all. Create your ossia across the whole bar, then grab the hidden instrument change on the right hand side of the ossia (a tall thin rectangle when you correctly click on it [or switch on View Hidden Objects]) and drag it leftwards as far as you want.
