I have recently migrated Sibelius 7.5 to as new DellXOPS with Windows11. When I playback through speakers/headphones using ANY driver (Realtec) I get white noise on top of the playback. This stays playing YouTube etc. until I reboot. If I set a second screen as playback device it works (but no headphones). All other sound apps (e.g. Reaper) work as expected. Very annoying.

I found the solution in Dell Support. Apparently a problem with the Realtek driver. Although I had the latest driver, I had to uninstall it and get all latest Dell upgrades for my computer. Then it works - Hooray!

As a rule, never believe it if Windows tells you that a given device driver is up to date. It often isn't, and going to the manufacturer of the device/chip, or the maker of the PC/laptop, will soon get you to the driver or drivers you need.

Good point Andy. At least all well now.
