Re: Articulation inside tab staff

I got sick of looking for a solution, so I dived back into the manuscript language PDF document and wrote a plugin to sort it instead.

Articulation inside tab staff

Hi! It's been ages since I visited the forum, and it's great to be back! Me and a friend have spent the day finding solutions to things that have bothered us. I got stuck though on one thing. My friend wanted articulations with white-out background to be written inside the staff on a tab staff. I ma...

Use the system selection instead of passage selection. Purple double lines instead of blue. CMD+click on mac and CTRL+click on PC!

Try selecting the bar and use the "Reset note spacing"-function in the Layout menu.

Try holding down Command (on mac) or Control (on PC) instead of shift.

Select the lyrics that you want to align in the middle (select the passage, then use the lyrics filter, in the edit menu), then use the arrow keys to move it in the middle. That's what I would do.

I think there is an "insert rest"-plug in you can use, or you can cut the whole score and paste it a 4th note later. There might be some cleaning up to do though when notes cross bar lines.

Hmm, I'm not exactly sure how to fix it without recreating the problem myself, but I'm in a hurry at the moment. Try to system select the first bar (Ctrl+click or Apple+click) and paste it after the first bar, then deleting the title page and the first bar.

Is it too long rythmically or just to wide visually?

If it's too long rythmically you can add a new time signature (press T).
If it's too wide visually, you can select it, and press "Reset note spacing" under the Layout menu.

You can remove the staccato dot the same way you added it. Select the notes and press * on the numpad (it's * on Swedish keyboards, I think it's the same on most keyboards). You add slurs by selecting the note and pressing "s" (as in "S"lurs). If you write a slur and hit Space, you will extend the s...

I use the Metric modulation text style instead of Tempo style for that type of Swing notation. Try that.
