2 ossia questions
Hi, I'm using ossias to create rhythmic variants above particular notes. I'm hiding all of the rests and doing an Instrument Change to No Instrument (hidden), so that the only thing which will appear is the rhythmic flag. Sometimes this works perfectly, but other times a barline is created at the be...

hiding ossia staff
Hi. I'm wondering if there is a way to hide the staff of an ossia? I'm not talking about hiding unwanted measures, but in removing the actual 5 line staff/stave. The reason that I want to do this is to depict alternate rhythmic possibilities for performance. This is common in Baroque music, where, f...

Re: help with 2nd ending bracket
Interesting, thanks. I need to get my hands on a good book which lays out best practices. It seems like Behind Bars by Elaine Gould is the current frontrunner. Thanks again for your help with the bracket.

Re: help with 2nd ending bracket
Thanks, Mike. That worked! As to why...no grand reason, it just seemed odd that clicking a closed bracket would produce an open one. I was curious how to make it work. I appreciate what you're saying about it not being standard notation. If that is the case (I'm actually looking at a Novello vocal s...

help with 2nd ending bracket
Hi. I'm trying to add a "closed" 2nd ending bracket (i.e., with a vertical line at both ends) to the last measure of a piece. Even though I'm choosing the bracket that has the two vertical lines, it is continually showing up as an "open" bracket (with only a left vertical line). I've tried running t...

Thanks for the info about the Text Styles dialog, that's very helpful. I'm still not able to move the vertical stems of the tuplet. Grabbing an end only allows me to move the angle of the tuplet or move the entire tuplet. What I would like to do is shorten the stems of the tuplet - purely for aesthe...

changing the appearance of a tuplet
Hi, Is there a way to change the font of a tuplet number? I know that I can change the line width in House Style>Edit Lines, but I haven't figured out where (or if) I can control the number itself. Also, is there any way to change the height of the vertical stems of the tuplet? It doesn't seem possi...

layout question
Hi, If you have two separate scores (different keys, titles, instrumentation, etc.): one of which is two pages long, but with only one or two systems at the top of the second page. the second score is a few systems, taking up less than half of one page. Is there an easy way to "combine" these for pr...

vertical justification on final page of scores
I'm having a problem with spacing on final pages when the last page of a score has only a few systems. If the vertical justification is on (in the engraving rules>staves submenu), Sibelius positions all of the systems at the top of the page. However, I am not able to move the systems downwards past ...

sibelius internet Edition features
Hi, I asked this in the general forum, but received no answer. Maybe the Scorch forum is a better location for this question: Are there any plans to add new functionality to SIE? Specifically, it would be great if end users, in addition to having the current playback capabilities available with Scor...

Sibelius Internet Edition features
Are there any plans to add new functionality to SIE? Specifically, I'd like end users, in addition to having the current playback capabilities available with Scorch, to have the Mixer capability found in Sibelius.
thanks,
Mark

coinciding key change and time signature problem
I prefer to have cautionary accidentals at key changes, but I'm running into a layout problem. In instances where I have both a key change and time signature change which coincide at the end of a system, Sibelius doesn't always generate enough room, so the accidentals overlap the new time signature....

Thanks for the responses. I knew about the Play>Dictionary menu, which is great for adjusting individual items, but I didn't know about the play on pass in the Properties window. The play on pass was exactly what I was looking for - an easy way to playback an entire score without having the dynamics...
