Money isn't much of an object. I would pay quite a bit to get realistic sounds, especially in strings and brass. Guess my main handicap is my ignorance of how to get from here to there.

Re: Convincing brass
This is helpful. I am mostly ignorant of everything beyond Sibelius, including Cubase, etc. Guess I need to get educated. I would be willing to spend hundreds or thousands, for great brass and strings. I have performed hundreds of times using Sibelius's instruments as accompaniment, and have never h...

Convincing brass
I want to write some really bold-sounding trumpet and brass passages in a musical I have composed, and I haven't exhaustively tried nearly all what Sibelius has to offer, but the ones I have used sound like toys. Are any trumpets, cornets, etc. better than others? I use the Sibelius instruments for ...

How do I lay out a hymn?
How do I write a hymn? How do I lay out the hymn format, then compose the music, and then write three or four verses? In the past I have done this, but can't remember exactly how to lay it out it in Sibelius. Using a Mac, OS 13.3.1, and Sibelius Ultimate 2023.3.1 Build 2044 -- Tom in Texas

uninstalling NotePerformer 3
Awhile back I installed a trial version of NotePerformer. I didn't think it was that much of an improvement over the default Sibelius sounds, so I declined to pay for it. Now I can't uninstall it. Can anyone tell me what-all I have to discard to accomplish that? Using Mac OS 13.2.1 and Sibelius Ulti...

getting rid of Noteperformer
How do I get rid of Noteperformer? Every time I launch Sibelius it pops up, and says it's expired, like, two years ago. I tried to find instructions online. It said it's in the Library, but I couldn't find it there. In fact, I searched my computer for Noteperformer, and came up with nothing. However...

uninstalling, then reinstalling
My Mac returned from the shop reformatted. I put my stuff back on it via Time Machine, but when I tried to open Sibelius it said I have to uninstall, then reinstall it. I have tried to figure out how, but it's virtually impossible, with the confusing instructions. Can anyone help me? Thanks. Using S...

Re: checking for upgrades
Ok, thanks. I love Sibelius, but I have numerous suggestions for making it a little more user-friendly. Still, it's better than the old-fashioned way, with a quill pen and parchment.

checking for upgrades
How do I check for a Sibelius Ultimate update? Google tells me to go to File>Help>Check for Updates. However, here on my Mac, under the File menu, there is no Help. Currently it says I'm using Version 2020.21 build 3117. Using Mac OS 11.6

Re: uninstalling Noteperformer
I don't know about a Mac uninstall process. I Googled "uninstall sounds configurations in Sibelius", and one page said just go to the Library, etc., and drag it to the trash. Ended with, "That's it!" I thought that sounded a bit too simple, but I did it, and it made no difference. I can't find a ste...

uninstalling Noteperformer
How do I uninstall the trial version of Noteperformer? I tried it, but decided it wasn't that much of an improvement over the ones I'm currently using. Also, I read to go to the Library and drag it into the trash. I did, and emptied the trash, but it still shows up. Using Mac 11.4 and Sibelius Ultim...

Re: won't play back thru Mac headphones
Well, that was it. Thanks. I have been using Sibelius nearly ten years, and I have never had this problem before. I was not even aware of Audio Engine Options 'til you pointed it out. Now, will I have to go back to that and change it every time I switch from computer speakers to headphones?
