Re: Guitar notation
You can create a vertical Scale Diagram in Sibelius and adjust the dots, edit the Text Style "Chord Diagrams-Fingerings" to fit into the dots. The Fretnumbers must be added into the score after words by normal text. To shift elements without letting the anchor jump between notes hold the alt-key pre...

Re: Remove Clefs etc. at beginning of line (see picture)
When you change a part of a staff to "hidden" then normaly you are able to drag the start and end points of the hidden area with the handles. (If you can't see any then switch them on in the Ribbon under "View") I assume you are comfortable with this behavior. Now in your case you would want to drag...

Re: Changing from straight to swing midway through a piece
Here (Sib7.1.3)Straight and Swing, also Straight. and Swing. work with Tempo,Metric modulation or plain system Text on any score. Did you also try if it works on a new score? You wrote that swing works when set per default and the word "Straight" then also works. When you then again add "Swing" does...

Re: Boomwhacker colors on a chord?
You are on Sibelius 7, right? Then the plugin suite really is the only way to go. Sibelius 8 was developed further and can color individual notes of a chord, but Sibelius 7 requires the workaround with the special colored Notehead Styles. It isn't difficult to use but I suggest to apply it on a copy...

Re: a rest that is in the lyrics line - how to add
You can use the rest character from the Opus music font (or other music fonts) in the lyrics line but it is difficult to find. On Windows you can use the character map for that and put it in by copy and paste. But I would just press "z" and use the rest from the symbols menu. You can choose between ...

Re: Preces and Responses
With "hide starter" I mean the grey rectangular handle at the beginning of the hidden section of the staff. To hide a staff you create an instrument change to a hidden instrument. At the beginning and end of this changed instrument there are grey rectangular handles which can be dragged with the mou...

Re: Preces and Responses
Hi, to hide the beginning of the staves you have to drag the left "hide starter" more to the left in panorama mode (shift-p). Or if you are in page mode that means to drag the "hide starter" to the end ob the above system. But that can be a bit fiddly since you might cross several staves causing unw...

Re: New alternate notation: is this possible?
The best feature of conventional notation is that it is conventional. So it could be a good idea to take the effort to learn a written language that you can communicate with other musicians.
