Moving a staff to the next page
Hi, I have tried to solve this 3 years ago and wasn't able to find an answer. The problem persists, and so I will try again to explain it and try to find help. Thank you for your understanding: The problem is too many staves on one page and too few on the next. It looks terrible. Optimizing, unlocki...

Re: Pick-up bar in Sib 6
I had so much trouble with this because there are multiple Sibelus 6 folders and I didn't catch this difference. There is one under this directory C: >Program files (x86) > Sibelius Software > Sibelius 6. That looked like where I should be looking for a software, (that is program files), cuz, uhm, S...

Re: Pick-up bar in Sib 6
Adding one afterwards is tricky and sib 6 doesn't move the system text. Later versions of Sib do. However, there is a plug-in that you can use which will make the task easier. The plug-in is called Add pickup bar and it does move the system objects. Hi, I downloaded the plugin but I don't seem to b...

Re: Pick-up bar in Sib 6
Hi, - If you add an irregular bar at the beginning, as the manual says, you shouldn't lose your titles, headings etc. Make sure nothing is selected by pressing the Esc key (or Mac equivalent) two or three times (to be sure). Go to Create > Bar > Other > Number of bars = 1 > Irregular. choose the len...

Pick-up bar in Sib 6
I am trying to accomplish the very basic task of starting a piece with a pickup bar in Sibelius 6.0, so far with lots of wasted energy and no success. The reference manual’s only mention of pick-up bar is under Creating irregular bars (pg. 90). So, the implied logic from the reference manual is: “th...

Gracenotes displace other voice.
Hi, The picture shows how when adding grace notes to the 2nd voice it moves the B note (1st voice) to the left. Sibelius is aligning the first of the group of grace-notes with the B (example 2 and 3). This would not be a problem if the tie would also adjust and go from the 1st B and land on the 2nd ...

Re: Tuplet not allowed in 2nd voice
So the fix is I have to use Ctrl+3 and not the top menu to apply a tuplet to the 2nd voice; In case anyone else runs into this problem.

Re: Tuplet not allowed in 2nd voice
I tried Selecting the rest with the note and that will not fix it. Anyway, it should not apply the triplet to a voice other than the one I've selected. If I had selected only the 8th note that would be sufficient in the 1st voice to transform it into a triplet 8th note there. But because the selecte...

Tuplet not allowed in 2nd voice
HI,
Sibelius won't allow a tuplet on the 2nd voice. I am clearly selecting the 2nd voice (green) but Sibelius is applying the tuplet to the 1st voice. Please see the attached photo.

Re: adjust number of staves per page
So right now - Select All, Unlock Format, Reset Space Above Staves, Reset Space Below Staves. That will let Sibelius flow the music itself and will usually do a pretty decent job of things. You can use Optimize if it helps. All these do nothing to solve the problem I explained. After unlocking form...

adjust number of staves per page
Hi, In this fairly basic looking part some measures are busier than others, others have text others don't. One page has 9 staves and everything from one staff touches the above and below staves and second page has 3 staves with a waste of space. I want to have a balanced number of staves on each pag...

cannot delete useless accidentals
Basic music notation rule which Sibelius seems to always ignore: If a note is altered by any accident, while it does have influence over the repeated occurrence of that same note in that bar, that accident has absolutely no influence (does not apply) to any same note beyond the bar line of that meas...

Number of bars in a staff
I have 2 staffs of music and this is how Sibelius is organizing it: 1st staff contains 4 bars filled with 16th notes so close to each other you can barely distinguish anything, and a 5th bar stretching over the entire 2nd staff. There is no intuitive way of specifying the number of bars in a staff. ...
