Looking for a procedural tip changing time signatures

Okay, here’s something that happens not infrequently when I’m writing (or editing). Say I’m in 4/4 (90% of the time, that’s true). I’ve written lots of measures, then go back and realize that what I really needed at one point was a measure of 2/4, and I need to chop out out a half measure. That’s th...

Guitar Strummer Plugin?

Is there such a thing? I can't find anything in the deliverd plugins whose name indicates it would do this. Basically, I'd like to provide, say, halfnote rhythm guitar chords, and then have a brilliant plugin convert it to some semblance of strumming. It is so tedious trying to write this manually. ...

Export graphics

I’m exporting graphics images of vocal scores to create a video that follows the music, with page turns to allow the viewer to follow along. Best way to share the “vocals”, which are being realized by Sibelius synth voices, so the viewer can match the melody with lyrics. I import the resulting MP3 a...

Re: Parts Don't Stay With File

Perhaps I've not been clear. I can certainly create a new part by selcting a staff and pressing w. But I have created parts with multiple instruments (I like to use this approach to isolate a set of instruments during playback; yes, I could select the staves, but this is something I tend to do repea...

Parts Don't Stay With File

This is happening with some regularity. I create a new Part, save the file, take it to another machine, but when I open the file, the part is not there. Shouldn't parts travel with the file?

I am on Version 2020.9, on both machines

Re: Ultimate on second computer

So I just need to upgrade the other 7 version? When I tried that, Avid would not let me enter the activation code I already had, nor attempt to get another for that computer.

Re: Ultimate on second computer

That has definitely always been true. I have 7.x on two computers, no problem. Sibelius Ultimate seems to be a horse of a different color. I can’t get it to register on a second computer. The Avid web site is ambiguous on the matter. For everything up to version 8, it definitely states that the two ...

Ultimate on second computer

I think I've been down this particular rabbit hole before, but my memory is not what it used to be. I have Ultimate/Perpetual. Can it be installed and registered on a second computer? I fear the answer is no, but my sense of justice and fairplay (not to mention precedent) screams out "That can't be ...

Converting triplets to dotted

I have a blues (show) tune that I wrote using triplets everywhere to give it the swing it needs. However , I fear the resulting vocal score is gonna frighten singers (it would scare the hell out of me :) ). For some reason, I thought Sibelius at one time had a plugin that would convert triplets to t...

Surface Go and Sibelius

(I posted this in Hardware sub-forum, but got no feedback, so decided to put it to the broader audence...) I'm considering a Surface Go, to take advantage of more mobility, and because Sibelius won't run (meaning won't let me compose) on my iPad. Wanted to ask about running Sib on it, specifically S...

Surface Go and Sibelius

I'm considering a Surface Go, to take advantage of more mobility, and because Sibelius won't run (meaning won't let me compose) on my iPad. Wanted to ask about running Sib on it, specifically Sib 7. Anyone have any experience? Issues with storing sounds? I use Noteperformer. Similar questions w.r.t ...

How to control rate of ritard/accelerando

I need to ramp up fairly quickly. I want to go from approx 118 to 145 or 150. I've tried accel and molto accel, but neither ramp sufficiently, and the tempo changes very abruptly. I expect there is an easy way to somehow specify the rate of tempo increase, but I don't know how. Thanks for any enligh...

Well, sure, when you put it that way. :D
Thanks.

How to make score smaller/larger?

Yes: smarty answer is "take some notes out/add more notes in". :D But I'm talking about the size of the text and musical notation. Sometimes (for reasons that have thus far happened accidentally), my score will appear with ~6-7 bars in a system, text and notation are correspondingly small. Normally,...
