Re: Problem with Printing Parts Sib 8.1
Until recently I have no problems printing parts on Sibelius. However now I have theses problems. 1. The Instrument Name in the top left hand corner is in a faint red instead of black. It is orange because it is in a slightly different place in the part than in the score 2. The hidden Instrument na...

Re: Latency settings, and configuration options
Yeah. My advice, make yourself a meal, have a brew and watch a bit of telly. I have a superfast broadband and it was about 3 hours on that. Make sure your machine doesn't sleep or hibernate while the download process is going on or you will end up with a corrupted file.

Re: Latency settings, and configuration options
I just cross-graded from Sibelius to Ultimate, and also installed Noteperformer. I'm on Windows 10. I have two questions: 1. I'm getting a small amount of latency when inputting notes (from a midi keyboard, or the PC keyboard). I've found I can reduce this in various ways, I'm just wondering what i...

Re: Phantom text over staves
These are MIDI control messages left over from a MIDI import. 1. they are probably sending subtle dynamic changes 2, they will not print 3. they are harmless If you want to get shut of them either turn off view Invisibles hidden objects or filter for technique text containing the tilde character (~)...

Re: Printing Names of individual parts
Check the top left corner of the score. Show hidden objects and see if there is a piece of text there that looks like this: Full Score It may be grey (because it is hidden in the score), If it isn't there, in the score, rt-click, text-->Special text-->Instrument name at top left then type EXACTLY $\...

Re: Activation Conundrum
TBF, maybe because I've been a user for so long and I have always updated my software as soon as it comes out, I have only once had an activation problem. I think that I have also kept up my perpetual licence and support plan so I've never had to try to reinstate it. Looking back over the years I've...

All you get from Avid is "Well we wanted to standardise it across our entire platform!" - as if that justifies it.
It's an awful system, badly executed and I hate it with a passion and a vengeance!

Re: Text Input Problem
The only possible solutions are these:
1. Go back to a previous MacOS that supports your version of Sibelius.
2. Upgrade your version of Sibelius to the latest Sibelius Ultimate (If you have Sib 6.x/7.x or 8.x any other option is a serious downgrade.)
3. Get a Windows PC.

Re: Instructions for Instrumentalists
There are lots of different text styles already set up - and editable if they don't do what you want by default - some are system styles and some are staff styles. There are special styles for tempo marks, titles, subtitles composer and so on which are already set up to be positioned where they look...

Re: Adding a double barline in measure
The solution you have found for yourself is the most stable one. It won't get its panties bunched up when you reset or alter the spacing and you can put a double bar or key change there without it causing havoc with your layout.

Re: Instructions for Instrumentalists
No. Don't use a staff text style, use a system text style. When selected (after you've typed) system text appears purple, staff text appears blue. Rt-click will bring up a context menu. Click above the staff and clear of any object. Follow the menu to Text->Other system Text->Plain system text Type ...

Re: Instructions for Instrumentalists
Use a system text style. Plain system text will work fine for performance instructions.
The text will only show on the top staff of the score, but will appear at the same bar of the score in all of the parts.

Re: Audioscore Lite organ music?
OK, you are NOT going to like this answer.
Give up now. AudioScore is not worth the money you didn't pay for it! It does not work except in the most very basic way even with monophonic clean recordings it will give you diddly squat.

Re: Restated accidentals at every chord
The problem is I do NOT want naturals in front of natural notes as they are assumed to be naturals unless they have an accidental, so I guess it'll just be loads of work, then! So the second of the two plugins would be of use to you then as it only adds accidentals to sharps and/or flats. You could...
