Re: Change music to dotted meter
If that's what you want, are you sure you are describing the issue? It sounds more like you are aiming for 12/8, not 12/4. There is a plugin called "convert simple time to compound time" that might be able to help. It's a shipping plugin, so it should be available to you. It makes a copy of the sele...

Re: Change music to dotted meter
Select all the bars you feel are in 12/4, but make sure the total number of beats is divisible by 12. Press t and enter the new time signature. If you have selected it correctly, that should insert the 12/4 ts and restore the 4/4 at the end automatically.

Re: Turn off default Layout Marks
That's probably what got you into trouble in the first place.
You might also want to look at the bottom left of the print dialog. You must have turned on the setting that prints crop marks and layout marks.
Sibelius does not do this automatically!

Use [ctrl][+] and [ctrl][-] to zoom in and out. To go back to seeing the full score use [ctrl][0] (zero).

Re: Multirests
If you search for "Use multirests", it should appear in the list. Providing those bars contain a bar rest (not a semibreve or minim) they will combine into multirests.

Re: Record notes on top of current ones
I'm not sure I agree with Graham about Logic not being up to sibelius' standard of notation. Many, many years ago, I persuaded my school to buy the department a program called Notator for the Atari ST. After several iterations, this program metamorphosed into Logic. Again, I persuaded the school to ...

Re: Record notes on top of current ones
Sibelius does, indeed, import midi. However, as always, there's a caveat. If your midi file is not quantized, your notation will be all over the place! Sibelius developed primarily as notation software. It was intended to be used to notate music without needing a music/midi keyboard. The Finn brothe...

Re: Record notes on top of current ones
1. I meant no disrespect, but I was under the impression you were trying to notate an already written part. 2. I'm no drummer - I have the hand - eye coordination of a newborn. 3. If you are having issues notating your drum parts using layering, I might suggest recording them on separate staves, ini...

The key I referred to has two right facing arrows [>>] not [left] or [right]. It's on the keypad. YMMD

Re: Assigning voices to SATB parts in score
You are misunderstanding the use of "voices" in sibelius. If you have satb, the two voices on each staff should be in voice 1 and 2 only. Voices 3 and 4 are really only useful for very complex polyphony. Using photoscore can be awkward. You must make sure that all rhythmic and pitch errors that occu...

Re: Unselectable text
You can't place title page/blank page text on a normal page! If it lands on a normal page when you cut/paste it is definitely not title page text. Are you using a title page/blank page text style?

Re: Shortcuts for More Notes, Beams/Tremoloes, etc. ?
AFAIK, the keypad selection is chosen using the F1 - F9 keys along the top row of the keyboard. You can also cycle through them using the [>>] key on the numeric keypad. Off the top of my head, I can't remember which function keys apply to which keypad layout. Have a play. Just remember to press und...

Re: Record notes on top of current ones
How complicated is this drum part? Would it not be easier (and more accurate) to use the computer keyboard to enter it? Use a drum set staff. Enter the cymbal ostinato in voice 1, using notehead 1 (cross) - cymbals are at the position of g/a at the top of the staff . Enter bass drum and snare using ...

Re: Unselectable text
If you know which text style you used, you should be able to filter for it. Select all, then filters-->advanced-->text. Choose the text style from the list - it should be something with (blank page) or (title page) in the name. If you do this but, after having run through the text styles, you still ...
