Re: lyric extension line detail
Thanks, Mike and Andy. Not what I'd hoped to hear... the piece fits nicely on 2 pages as-is and I'd rather not go to three. Other than these extension lines the rest of the layout is not crammed all that badly. Well, anyway, I was able to nudge the syllables a bit and that helped. Looking in the hel...

lyric extension line detail
A minor point but hopefully there's a simple solution. I'm setting a tune that has one one-syllable word at the beginning of a measure, extended for 2 1/2 beats (half note tied to an eighth), followed by three one-syllable words, each on an eighth note (thus making one bar in 4/4). Typing this lyric...

Re: Leroy early music font (dead link)
Ooooh - what is this? If it is what it sounds like I'd be very interested in it (I do some early arranging of early music for my choral group).

How to DC more than once?
Moving this from general questions to playback problems. Ok, I've looked at the documentation, various tutorials, and posts, and still can't seem to make this short piece behave the way I'd like. Tune's structure is: Verse ||: chorus (1st ending) :|| (second ending) | DC. There are three verses (and...

moving lyrics
Does anyone have a slick way to cut and paste from, say, lyric line 2 into lyric line 1?
Basically, I had 3 lines of lyrics, but have deleted line 1, and need to move line 2 to 1, then 3 to 2.
Thanks!

Sibelius and Finale on same box
I've been a Sibelius user for many years (originally Encore, then Finale for a while, finally Sibelius). Certainly not intending to dump Sibelius, but a colleague has asked me if I could help with some editing of a bunch of Finale scores she has. My question: is anyone running both products on one c...

Playback control
Is there a way to play back a portion of a score, one beat at a time, under control of the keyboard or something (similar to step-time entry)? I'd like to be able to step thru a section and listen to the chord changes as I go. What I'm doing now is temporarily inserting a very slow tempo for the sec...

Re: moving whole sections of a score
Mike: Ah, that clears it up.
Bob: Yes, I've used that trick before, but was looking for something easier for this one project. Figured there had to be a way to accomplish this without the overhead of potentially many versions hanging around (I am easily confused).
Thank you both for your help!

Re: moving whole sections of a score
Ok, so now I am again confused... isn't ctrl-v just paste? What makes it insert as opposed to overwriting?
Apologies for my denseness...

Re: moving whole sections of a score
Aha! Thanks. So, looking up "selections and passages"... ctrl-click seems to be the trick? This would be when selecting the section that I need to copy/move? (I would have thought ctrl-paste, or some such, more intuitive... but whatever works!)

moving whole sections of a score
The scenario is: I have an orchestral score that has multiple sections, not necessarily all the same length, and I want to move them around relative to each other -- call them A B C D E F, I want to try A C E B D F.... or just, say, B A C D E F... etc. Now, I *can* do that by inserting empty bars, c...

Yes, Thank you, Bob. I did not know the mixer could do all that!
