there's an easier way I found

As I said, it's always possible to create a new staff with soprano recorder..that will have the correct octave, but if you just wanted to rename a staff and have it sound an octave higher than written, you can go to Create Other (other is such an interesting choice in sibelius!) Transposition Change...

Finale to Sibelius

In Finale you can either save as .ETF file, which can be imported directly into Sibelius (with some textual changes needed) or you can use the free Dolet plugin to create a Music XML file, which can also be opened by Sibelius.

As far as I know this is only possible in two ways: 1) Publish your composition as a FREE piece in SibeliusMusic or 2) Purchase the full Internet version of Sibelius (mucho dinero) If you publish files in Scorch to your own website and you don't have the Internet version, your only options are Print...

Having notes play back an octave higher than written

If you input music, and pre-select the instruments, such as SATB, they will always sound correctly, in the right octave. So the soprano recorder will sound one octave higher than what you see on the manuscript, which is what it is supposed to do. But, when you take music for 'other' instruments and ...
