When i put a dynamic hairpin on a held note, in this case a french horn, with a dynamic before and after, there is no gradual change to the quieter note. Is this just a problem with general midi? how can i fix this

I'm writing an orchestral score and it's just one big infinite page. How do I separate it into pages?
