Re: Titles missing on parts

Remember that this is not the official Sibelius Forum, despite the title. It's old, a bit clunky and there is no Admin presence to update its software. So it doesn't allow sib as an extension and probably never will. Try zipping up the sib file and see if you upload the zip file instead. Your choice...

Re: Loopy Transport Panel

Just been playing a piece with an intro in 6/8 with a tempo marking of dotted crotchet = 40. That's not quick! :D

Re: staff size per page

You can do this if you want all the staves on the same pages. When setting up the instruments in your score, you'll have two pianos, so just make one of them smaller by selecting its 'Piano a' and 'Piano b' entries in the list of instruments and selecting the 'Small Staff' option. In Engraving Rules...

Re: Using Voice Commands with Sibeius?

I doubt if there's anything out there that could possibly integrate with all the features Sibelius has. And would you really want to anyway, and why? "Sibelius, go to Note Entry, Treble Staff, Voice 1. Input crotchet G, input quaver rest, input quaver B, input crotchet B, add interval 3rd......." Qu...

Re: How to change the note valeus of special noteheads

I just used notes of the appropriate value (don't think I needed anyone to stamp faster than a crotchet!) and used an 'x' notehead, with a written instruction that said 'Stamp'. Unambiguous! A diamond notehead with the instructions would have been just as good. If you wanted a tail on a crotchet sta...

As with many non-standard things, there is no automatic, built-in way. You will have to fake this with various lines.

If all else fails, use a third party pdf printer, like Cute PDF. Works perfectly for me every time.

Re: chord symbols and font

That's not the way to go! To change chord symbol size, go to Engraving Rules > Chord Symbols > Edit Text Styles You'll see the options for all the parameters governing chord symbols, including size in the full score and parts. You can set this before you start entering chords, or you can enter your ...

Re: Beginner searching for advice

You don't say what computer, soundcard or operating system you're using, but the delay you're encountering is latency - the time it takes your audio system to process that key press into a note. The default on Windows systems is horrendous, especially if you're using an onboard sound ship rather tha...

Re: Appoggiatura too close

Not so great? Not a problem - jut re-read the post above. You can export a House Style with those settings and import it to (or rather impose it on) other scores.

And you can create a Manuscript Paper with the changes to the settings in it, that you can then use to create new scores.

Re: Record constantly changing bpm by tapping

No point in asking for a new feature here, my friend. This is a very unofficial forum that nobody from Avid looks at. You could always ask at the official Sibelius forum. Inputting notation in real time is tricky enough when you're trying to keep a constant tempo. The chances of any notation softwar...

Re: Quality of Choir Sound is Not Good

The Sibelius sounds haven't changed since version 7.5 and choirs are not a strong point. It's possible that your friend has other sound libraries installed. As for 'sounding like humans', what were you expecting? For it to sing the words? Ooh and Aah vowel sounds, plus some articulations on them is ...
