Re: Two Scores Open On Screen
Yes, just open both scores. You can switch between them and copy and paste, much like most apps. One app open, but two or more files open.

Re: using sib. without internet
Steve. Also bear in mind that this is an old, unofficial forum, with only three of us left answering questions! The official site is here:
https://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpce ... ?groupid=3
This has been discussed a few times on the official forum, and it's definitely possible.

Re: Add a note to an existing one
Input the note and type the numeric interval on the computer keyboard numbers - not the keypad. That will add a note above the original. You can add as many as you like. So C 3 3 4 would give you, ascending, C E G C. If you hold Shift and enter the number for the interval it will add the note(s) bel...

Re: Does Sibelius First have Drum Notation & PDF to Midi?
Sibelius First is so crippled and feature disabled that, to be honest, it's not worth using. Sibelius Artist is a bit better but still has lots of features missing. Ultimate is the only fully featured version. So things that are greyed out may not be available to you. You could try Musescore 4.1. It...

Re: Sib 8.5.1 not accepting text of any sort.
Your version of Sibelius is not compatible with your Mac O/S. There is no work around. 3 Options: 1) Upgrade Sibelius to the very latest version 2) Downgrade your Mac O/S to one that allows Sibelius to work - if that's possible 3) Buy a Windows PC/laptop and dedicate it solely to Sibelius. Your old ...

Re: View Changes Upon Playback
There will be a setting somewhere to change the Zoom of the playback screen. I don't have your version of Sibelius so can't tell you exactly where. I'm sure one of the other two responders on this forum will know. Noting that you show a 2020 version of Sibelius. Be aware that Apple's changes to thei...

Re: Can't input lyrics and proceed to next note
Yes, the same problem. You'll have to upgrade to the latest version. Blame Apple, not Sibelius. Expensive, and we often recommend buying a refurbished Windows laptop and dedicating it solely to Sibelius - it will probably be cheaper and just as good! Windows 10 and 11 will run much older Sibelius ve...

Re: Noteperformer 1.5 not working on Sibelius
2018.7 is not the current version of Sibelius, if you're on a 2023 version you might want to amend your profile! :) If they've told you to upgrade, it's probably because 1.5 won't work with later versions of Sibelius - it's 3 generations old. If there's a workaround, one of the other two responders ...

Re: Playback Tempo Not Saved In Scores
You should check to see if your older version of Sibelius is fully compatible with your Mac O/S. A version from 2020 might not work properly. If so, you'll have to update to the latest version of Sibelius and then blame Apple for causing the issue! And if you are fully up to date and compatible, ple...

Re: Registration issues
I think you'd find a full discussion in a thread (or two!) on the official Sibelius chat page - http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?groupid=3 IIRC, this is a Mac issue, and the simplest solution was not to leave Sibelius open in that way. Not 100% certain. But someone on that for...

Re: paste as cue visible in the master score, neglecting preferences
Not sure if 2023.8 is fully compatible with Sonoma.
1) update to 2023.11 and check
2) if it's still an issue, post on the official forum, rather than this one

Sibelius version?
Operating system?
If this has just started to happen, have there been any operating system updates - manually done or 'pushed' recently?

Re: Convincing brass
Mike has said exactly what I'll now echo. For mock-ups, I'll use Sibelius Sounds plus Garritan GPO 4 together. That usually does the job quite adequately. If I want something better, I'll export the piece as a MIDI file and import it into Cubase, where I have a lot of higher quality virtual instrume...

Re: No Sound On Playback
If you really are on that version of Sibelius and a very recent Mac O/S, you will have to upgrade. In fact Apple pushed an update to older O/S versions some time ago that permanently disabled sounds on playback. So again, you probably have no choice but to upgrade to a new version of Sibelius :( One...
