Changing Chords Enharmonically

Can Sibelius 6 change a group of chords enharmonically? It would be great to select the chords, hit my keyboard shortcut and change them. I know I can change them by key or interval.

2nd Page Header - Sometimes I See It, Sometimes I Don't

The text in question is the header text (song title and instrument) beginning on the 2nd page. I'm able to create it, hide it on the first page, but, in many of my parts, it's not there, yet in others it's there. I've copied it from a part where it shows, pasted it into the part where it doesn't, an...

Am I an actual musician? Yes

Yes, I'm an actual musician. I've been an pianist, conductor and arranger for 40 years. I started out in '87 with MOTU's "Composer." Later it became Composer Mosaic. Hung in with it, though I tried Finale and found it way to "busy" for me. Finally, I bit the bullet 3 months ago and got Sibelius 6. I...

Help! Combined Rest Problem

Hi - In many of my large symphony scores, the combining of bars of rests is wrong. It will show, for example, 7 bars with the black line followed by a single measure of rest, not a total of 8 bars. I've had some success with going in, saving the other notes of the playing instruments, deleted the en...

Reading PDF Problems with Photoscore Ultimate 6

Hi - I've got several large and small PDF scores, three staves up to 32 staves. Each time I have Photo Score Ultimate read any of them on my iMac, the last page is always left out. On one it went up to bar 60 and stopped. I upped the "recording" to 120 bars, but no good. I know it's probably somethi...

Memory Problem

Hi - I'm doing large symphonic scores (one at a time, of course :), on an iMac Core Duo with 1.5 Gig of RAM. I've found that after several hours of work, Sibelius 6 "slows down." So, thinking Sibelius is tired, like me, I quit it. Then open it back up. OPPS! None of my files will open. They open for...

What Happen to my Trills?

Hi - I made a clarinet trill in Sibelius 6. No problem and they sounded great. I updated to 6.1, opened the score and found all my trills weird. The "tr" of trill is there but the wavy line suddenly became small boxes. I went into "Line" and found the same thing with both the "trill line" and the "u...

Key Signatures when changing instruements

Hi - I'm writing something that switches from Alto Sax to Flute. When the new key signature comes up, it's always right next to the bar line, sometimes making naturals difficult to read. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes, there's the "half-value" plug-in, but...

I did try that plug in, but then had to totally redo all the barlines. In Composer Moasic, you first make the correct meter, then change the value of the notes, (on a Mac, command forward slash) then, with another click, (again, on a Mac, command "4") you "rebar" the piece. Anything like that with S...

Changing Many Note Durations At Once

Hi - I've written a piece in cut time, but I now need to re-notate it, making every note and rest value half as long. In Composer Mosaic, you simply selected the staves and clicked the duration button to make this happen. Is there something similar in Sibelius? Thanks in advance, and thanks for help...

Big Question on Saving

Thanks for the info. I've found that, if you highlight all but one bar of the score, delete the highlighted parts, you save the instruments. As I said, I've been working MOTU's Composer Moasic for 22 years. Old habits die hard...

Big Question on Saving

Hi - I'm doing about 15 symphonic pieces, all with the same orchestration. As a long time user of MOTU Composer Mosaic, my first thought was to do the first one, choose SAVE AS, re-title it as the 2nd piece, go in and high-light all notes and simply delete them, leaving a "clean pallet" for this 2nd...

HELP! No Chord Imput

Hi - I find after inputing chords via the numeric keypad, I'm unable to add or change chords. I use the proper command but don't get the flashing curser above the note. Also, the spacebar does not advance the existing chords. I think the problem requires a simple fix, but this simple mind can't find...

Changing Instrument Names

Hi - I'm writing many arrangements for the same 4 voice female group. For rehearsal, I'd like to have "Soprano Solo" read the name(s) of the group members and be shown on the beginning of each staff in their parts. How do I do this? Thanks in advance...
