Great, thanks for that!
But once more, just to be completely sure: is it really not possible to hide stems rather than let them disappear altogether?

Aha, so it's impossible to hide them like one would hide other elements? This is a bit surprising since flags only can be hidden... I am not dealing with "regular" stems, but those you find above a tablature staff (I'm editing lute tablature). I want to replace the standard rhythm signs (i.e., stems...

Hide stems
Hi all,
Is it possible to hide the stem of a note so that this stem is only visible (in grey) when I select view > hidden objects?
I am aware that I can create stemless notes through the properties menu (notehead no. 8 ), but this way the stem is "gone" altogether.
Thanks!

Barlines in multipart music
Hi,
Is it possible to change a barline (i.e., from normal to dashed) in only one staff of multipart music, while the barline(s) in the other staff or staves remain unaffected?
Thanks!

Lines indicating the course of a voice in polyphonic music
Hi all, I have a piece in which the voices regularly jump from the upper staff to the lower (and vice versa) in order to avoid lots of ugly leger lines. This obscures the polyphony of course, and it is usually solved by connecting the last note on the one staff and the first on the other by a line. ...

Number of bars per staff -- layout problem
Hi, Is it possible to alter the number of bars on a system manually, i.e., to decide per system how many bars you want on it? My particular problem is this: I have a piece consisting of six pages, with on the last page only one system containing six very wide-spaced bars. It would be great if I coul...

Change from duble to triple meter / proportion problem
Hi, I have a very simple problem: I'm notating a piece in which a 2/2 and a 3/4 meter alternate. I want the dotted minim in 3/4 to take up the equal amount of time as the (undotted) minim in 2/2. Normally, I'd write [minim] = [dotted minim] above the staff, but I can't find how to do this in Sibeliu...

Aha, I learn a little more about Sibelius every day! I already found it hard to imagine that there wasn't an easy way to do this... My scores aren't large (three to four pages at most), and there aren't very many instances in which I have my particular problem, so this solution is actually perfect. ...
