If you can see the usual Sibelius background you might be looking 'off the page' as it were. Try Ctrl+Home (or Mac equivalent) to see if that brings the score back into view.

Don't add more staves/pages, add more bars (Create > Bar > At end or shortcut Ctrl+B).

I have to lock the lengths of the systems . . . You can edit a clef you won't be using in the Symbols menu to include the sharps, using House Styles > Edit Symbols . Apply that clef at the beginning of the piece. It will then function like an ordinary clef (though the fake Key Signature will be ign...

One way is to add the extra staves (first save the original score under a different name in case of accidents), then use the Explode plug-in (NOT the 'Arrange' Explode).

Re: Two diffrent time signatures

How i can write two diffrent time signatures from the begining on the score, so how sibelius then knows, in wich bar is wich time signature ?? Sometimes you can't, because Sibelius, while clever, can't read your mind. If there is a simple repeated pattern, Sibelius can do it with one signature. If ...

Re: Spaces in bars are not saved

when i save, close, and reload the score, the score looks like the first screenshot again I can't reproduce this, but when you say you had to move the note to insert the arpeggio line, I deduce you used a line from the Lines menu. It may help if you were to select the chord and then insert the arpe...

Re: Playback window control functions

I would like to input a numeric value for a tempo Use System Text to insert a metronome mark. Create > Text > Tempo then (say) Ctrl+4 for quarter (crotchet) = 112 . . . when using the horizontal slider . . . There are many shortcuts to move you around the score rather more quickly. There are also d...

Re: wrong rhythms...half for quarter, quarter for eigth...et

... maybe there is a faster way to do this? . . . There is a plug-in called Halve Note values (in the 'transformation' section of Plug-ins in the latest version of Sibelius. I recommend that you apply this plug-in to the score in sections of a few dozen bars, though it will process an entire score ...

No sensible way I know of. Your example shows two parts, so you can either write them with one stem in one voice or with two stems, using two voices.

Is there some problem with doing it the way I described?

Re: changing two voices to unison

wenceslao wrote:. . . to create a double stem . . .
1. Select the passage.
2. Press 1 to make each note a unison
3. Use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+2 or Mac equivalent to select the 'lower' note
4. Press Alt+2 to make the 'lower' notes into Voice 2

It is possible that the page-breaks from Finale are interfering with the layout.

One thing you can try is Layout > Format > Unlock Format, and that would allow Sibelius to flow the music in its own way.

Re: Piano stave to single stave in same part ?

Is it possible to go from piano stave to single stave in the one part ? Yes. If you can make the change on page or system boundaries, then select the stave you don't want and use Layout > Hide Empty Staves to make them vanish. If you need to change in the middle of a line, it's a bit more complicat...

Re: MIDI playback, instrument changes gone wrong, lines/symb

. . . when I change instruments in my version of Sibelius, I don't get the right MIDI patches. . . . I wish I could go back to Sib 4, which sounded great. You may need more than one instance of the playback device you are using. If you are using Kontakt Player 2, there are 16 MIDI channels, and Sib...

Re: Quarter tone entire instrument?

I just want to make it so I have 2 violins playing 1/4 tone below normal tuning the entire time. Did ~B0,32 not work? In v.6.2 most sound libraries will respond to this. What playback sounds are you using? (For some devices the message may need to be ~B, 32 and there are some other quirky ones, suc...

Re: resize bars for individual instruments

How to make the Cb. line shorter? Is there a way to achieve that in Sibelius? You will need to select the part of the staff you want to hide and use an Instrument Change to No Instrument (Hidden). You'll find this under All Instruments in the family Others (you have to scroll down a bit). If View >...
