Re: Insert a video with the score?
Where need i place the video wich lokation...? When you load the video ( using Play > Video and Time > Add Video ) you will see a dialog which allows you to search for your video file. Most common formats are supported by Sibelius. In Windows you can use Preferences to choose whether to use Quickti...

Re: turn off playback for ties
. . . it is common to have a tie hanging off the notehead to indicate that the instrument should be allowed to ring . . It is comparatively easy to make a line to do this, using the existing l.v. symbol, and which then gives you control over how long a sound rings on after the written duration. Alt...

there are -- rather often -- occasions when I need bar lines in the middle of lines (often ticks, but not always). Put barlines wherever you need them. If you have the default barline 'invisible', you can still see them if View > Hidden Objects is switched on. Select a barline and use Create > Barl...

Re: Chant with no time signature
there must be an easier way than what I described. First, look at the plug-in "Draw Free Rhythm Barline" (in Plugins > Composing Tools ). I'd recommend that you set up a user-defined shortcut for this plug-in to make your life easier. See Section 6.6 of the Sibelius 6 Reference for some more detail...

Re: "Fit To Page" Function?
Is there a way to automatically re-size the staff so that it fits it all to 1 page No, but there is a fairly simple way: use Layout > Document Setup > Staff Size and make small changes. The miniature version of the page shown in the dialog window will help you gauge the most economical size to use ...

Re: Composing motivation?
. . what I played on the piano never sounds the same . . . There are several possible reasons: 1. You're not notating correctly what you played. There's no real cure for this except, maybe, recording your playing and comparing it very carefully with the computer-performed version. Or become more ta...

Re: Lead sheet transposing/Copying between clefs
the slashes are actually still notes, so if you transpose the piece, they move up or down on the stave They don't for me. Perhaps it's a change in the latest versions, but if you got to House Styles > Edit Noteheads and Edit the slash styles you can un-tick "transpose". (This will apply only to the...

Always put Voice 1 notes above Voice 2.AlexKeysMusic wrote:How do you make parts 1 and 2 in line?
Don't re-input what you've done, though: you can swap Voice 1 and Voice 2 by selecting a passage (or the whole staff) and clicking on
Edit > Voice > Swap 1 & 2 (shortcut Shift-V).

Re: Problems with bars lenght
I have a very long bar . . . If you want more music on that system you might need to select as many bars as you want to see on one line and then click Layout > Format > Make into System (or Make into Page). If it's a final bar, and you just want to shift the right margin, click just past the middle...

Click on mm from bottom margin instead of "mm from top margin"
(it might say 'inches' instead of 'mm' depending on your country settings)
