Re: PhotoScore Hardware
TBH, I don't rate cheap Canon scanners. The last two I had were not as reliable as they might have been on Win 10. I'm currently using a HP ScanJet 200 which is fine for Photoscore. The quality of the original is the most important factor for Photoscore success.

Re: The PhotoScore-Factors
1. The best results usually come from scans of computer generated scores 2. If converting pdfs, they should be the highest quality scans. Those from IMSLP and other places are not always the best quality or the clearest. 3. Make sure you get the staff size correct. Try each of the sizes offered unti...

Re: Export to audio - *clear* instructions please?
One of the many advantages that NotePerformer has over the Sibelius sounds is that they don't take forever to load every time you add an instrument to a score. Another is that the whole library is tiny by comparison. A third is that the way NP operates makes its playback much more musical sounding I...

Re: Can't save Audio engine options settings
Before trying to work out what is going on further, could you please post screenshots of your Audio engine options dialog and your playback devices dialog? Could we also see the drop down list of your configurations?

Re: How to write Customised Rehearsal Marks
If you really want to do this, you can.
Use [ctrl]r to insert your first rehearsal mark
select the bar where you want the next
Click the bottom half of the Rehearsal marks button on the text tab of the ribbon (On the words Rehearsal Mark)
Choose Restart Sequence and then follow the dialog.

Re: Mark the recognition aera
Yes, you can manually recognise staves in PS. I do this all the time. Sometimes, a PDF has a smaller staff for some reason and PS does not handle this well. However, on those pages, you click and drag over each staff and you will get a ghost staff. Drag until it meets the end of the system. You may ...

Re: metric modulation
"Swing" and "straight" will work in any system text. In later versions of Sibelius, you can make individual instruments swing (or not) by using technique or plain text on that staff. The rest of the parts will be unaffected in this case.

Re: Correct note in staff
Thanks. I was trying to avoid redoing all the other corrections I made before noticing this problem. But best to bite the bullet. If you saved the PS 'opt' file, you shouldn't have to. Like sib files, they really take up very little space. You should really do all of the main editing (clefs/bar len...

Create a new part with all the staves in it that you want and use hide empty staves on that.

Sibelius won't let you over-write one of the built-in configurations. You have to give your new configuration a completely new name. When you do you will get a Save button.

Re: Adding Instruments For Part Of Piece
It's probably much easier just to have the staff in from the beginning and use Hide Empty Staves to hide the bits with no music. Remember, every time you add a new ossia, you are adding a new hidden staff anyway
