Re: Turning several songs into one document.

1. Make sure that all songs have the same instruments with the same names and in the same order. 2. Make sure each song ends with a final barline and the last bar is marked as a Section end (Use the inspector) 3. Open the first score 4. Use Append score to add the next song. Check that it has been a...

Re: scanned transposition

So much depends on the quality of the pdfs. If they are clean, computer generated pages, there should be very little work. Anything else is likely to take hours and hours of clean up. Also, there are major features missing from the free version of photoscore. Do not let PS automatically read the sco...

Re: notes all crammed together...

Firstly, this is a common problem, especially for those who tend to use layouts with 4 bars per line. Whatever you do, do NOT, under any circumstances, drag barlines around. That is opening up a world of hurt for yourself later on. Try these methods instead: 1. Reduce the size of the staff slightly ...

Re: Recovering files deleted from backup

Just a thought for future reference. Sib files, unless you bloat them by saving internal versions, are tiny. Rarely more than a couple of hundred k. Even for very long works. Increase your saved backups to 1000 or more files (I've actually got mine set to 30000). I doubt you'll actually miss the spa...

Re: Logic to Sibelius score import

Much better to use xml or mxl from logic, although why you'd want to move from logic I don't know!

There will still be plenty of clean-up to do, it's unavoidable.

Re: WHAT TEXT TO USE?

I gave you the information you needed to set you on the path to find the complete answer. I'm not here to save you from boredom. "It's boring" is just another way of saying "I can't be bothered". How old are you, 12? The manual gives very clear and concise information about how to use text, how diff...

Re: WHAT TEXT TO USE?

Well, you know, if you can't be bothered, put up with your lack of knowledge! ANY system text will appear on all parts as well as in the score. However all the different types of system text are named. The common ones like "title", "tempo", "composer", "lyricist" etc are given names that tell you wh...

Re: Lyric font size

You change it in the Text tab of the ribbon. There's a little arrow on the bottom right of the Styles box. Clicki this and a dialog will open letting you change lots of things about text, including font sizes.

Re: Drums notation

I've always found midi input of drum notation to be extremely unreliable. Using midi, the drum notation has to use channel 10. Some keyboards seem to have issues setting this up. After years of trying, I gave up and just started inputting by hand. In the end, it was too time costly to try to play th...

In a word - yes. You are allowed two concurrent activations for exactly this purpose. You can install the program on as many machines as you like, but only 2 can be activated at the same time.

Yes. Ignore any error message. Sib 6.x does not support any if the newer xml features so the results will need considerable post-editing.

Re: Drums notation

The symbols you need are on the keypad, on one of the layouts (3?) Select the note to which you want them to apply and press the key on the keypad. They will only play with the correct sound when the piece is playing. Hi hat should be placed on the g space at the top of the staff. They should also u...

Re: Accidentals persist on the keypad after the note is entered?

I can't say I've heard if this happening. I've very recently transcribed apiece using the parts, to produce a new, clean score and not noticed this behaviour. I'm on 2023.11.1 in Windows 11. Im not sure if theres a setting fir this. I do believe that the behaviour of accidentals in the parts was cha...

Hi. I've heard of this being reported on macs and acknowledged as a bug. I am not certain, but it may have been fixed in 2023.11.1.
