Re: Sirius First question
I fully agree with Andy on this one. Sibelius First is only meant to be a 'taster'. It has hardly any of the features available in the full powered version. Why would it? It's not a 'Trial version'. It's a completely free forever version. Even I wouldn't expect them to give away a full version for n...

Re: Tying a Note?
You can only do this (but it's still a fake up) in later versions of Sibelius.
There is a plugin called "Tie into 2nd ending" which fakes it for other versions.

Re: backwards tremolos/straight in timpani part
I'm sorry, but without sight of the actual score (not an image) we cannot tell what is going on. (email address in signature). We also need your OS and Sibelius version details.

Re: Three Dots on Upper Left Corner of Score
I don't know why it's of concern. Maybe the type of window in which they don't appear is different in some way? That's Macs for you!

Re: Opened File looks strange
This is a font issue. You don't normally see it on Windows. Have you restarted your machine since you installed Sib? Did you install the full productr - ie not an update? What was the file prepared in originally - ie, is it an import from musicxml or a PhotoScore Scan? Please email it to me (address...

Re: Three Dots on Upper Left Corner of Score
Those are the mac equivalents of windows' window size icons on the top right of windows. They are nothing to do with Sib. They are part of your OS.

I probably was. I'm in the middle of moving house and I get cranky when I'm stressed and tired.

Re: Lowering Chord Symbols Above The Staff
If you already have chord symbols in the score you will need to select them and use reset position. ([ctrl][shift]p)
I'm not being rude here, but when I was growing up, height meant "vertical position".

Re: Lowering Chord Symbols Above The Staff
In your big band template, go to Appearance-->Design and position (click the little icon in the bottom right corner of the design and position section.) Choose Chord Symbol from the dialog and set your height there. Click OK to get back to the template. Then File-->Export-->Manuscript Paper, choose ...

Re: Creating an audio file from chords
It is probably easier to just create a part yourself, to get the exact style you want than to futz about with the plugin. Then select only the chord track and export selection as audio

Re: graphics in a template
Sibelius' handling of graphics is still very poor - they can't even properly WYSIWYG text! The answer to 2. is no. The answer to 1. is maybe. When I use graphics in a template they do appear in scores based on that template. They don't always appear in the same place on the page and, as you say, the...

Re: Printer won't print
OK. Your statement doesn't make much sense. If the file is saved as a .sib file, with a .sib extension, then your OS should associate that with sibelius. When you print, you should be printing from within Sibelius - unless you have exported the file as a pdf, which I know some people like to do. How...
