Re: Creating vocal accompaniment with Photoscore+Sibelius
I'm wondering how satisfactory the procedure . . . might be . . . Many users find that it's quicker to input the music from scratch than to make all the correction, changes and adjustments usually needed for a PhotoScore scan. But with practice, and with a good original to scan from, you can get go...

Select the notes you want to be smaller, and click on the Enter key on the second keypad layout (the one with the large/small note symbol).wenceslao wrote:. . . two different notehead size?

Re: change instruments on the same score
. . . 4 pages old insturments and from the 4-page create new instruments in my orchester . . . Create all the instrument at the beginning of the score. Then select the (empty) staves you don't need on page 1-4 and click Layout > Hide Empty Staves . For the remainder of the score, select whichever i...

Re: Quarter tone entire instrument?
The answer depends a bit on the sounds you are using, but the MIDI message ~B0,32 in (say) Technique text at the beginning of the scordature staff should work for most devices.nickvasallo wrote: is there a way to have the instrument play every note 1/4 down?

Re: Printing multiple parts on one page
. . . I want them on one page so that the singers see each other's parts . . . Click on Windows > Parts then, in the Parts Window, click the New icon. Select the staves you want to include from the left-hand column to include in the part (either select and click on Add to part or just double-click ...

Re: Vertical alignment of crossing voices
. . . I want the F in the alto placed to the left of the stem of the C . . . You can do it with the X-offset in the General pane of the Properties Window. If you have more than a few to do, try the 'Narrow two Voices' plug-in from the official Sibelius Plug-ins Download page: http://www.sibelius.co...

Re: Simplest methods to split chords?
. . . is there any preset and setup combination that I can simply use to separate any track into 3/4/5 part harmony? . The Explode plug-in is the obvious method — perhaps you were using the Explode setting in 'Arrange', which isn't intended to do what you want to do (and it seems absurdly confusing...

Re: Alternating Time Signatures (4/4 + 3/4)
Instead of writing the time signature every bar at the beginning of the piece it just have 4/4 + 3/4 This plug-in from the Sibelius plug-ins Download page might help. I haven't used it, but it may give you the opportunity to make the bars without the time signatures every bar. http://www.sibelius.c...

Re: Interesting problem
Actually what I want to do is export selections as a midi file. There is a downloadable plug-in which allows you to create a new score from a selection, and you can then export it as a MIDI file. http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?plugin=282 Actually you can make a new copy of the ...

Re: Add Instrument Mid-Way Through
. . . I don't want 2 measures of rest to show Select the vocal line for the first system (double click) and use: Format > Hide Empty Staves . . . the notes still stay all scrunched up and don't space out. If you drag the bar-lines you won't get the effect you want. Reset spacing for the first syste...

If you mean you want to cut out and keep a section of score for future use, save it as an Idea (Edit > Capture Idea, shortcut Shift+I).aristoxenus wrote:Is there a way to save selections in Sibelius 6?

Re: How do i get the notes on the staff?
How do i get the notes to stay on the staff when uploading a midi file? The first thing to do is to insert a treble clef at the beginning of the upper staff. Press ESC a couple of times, then Q then select treble clef and click just o the left at the start of the piece. That will at least bring the...
