Try selecting starting bar/right click/select Text/select Other Staff Text/ Instrument Change. Same thing to change back.

Re: Feathered beam rit. question (please help!)
Can you nudge measures so that there is no page break there?
Otherwise this link might help.

Re: Measure numbers missing
Sibelius is confused. It thinks that it needs to repeat each section several times. You can see this by going to Play/Repeats. Also, go to Text/Numbering/select the arrow in the lower right/check Count Repeats. Now look at the score. See how many times Sibelius repeats sections. There is a simple wa...

Re: Incorrect Formating on key change
The way I would do it would be to select the barline at the end of the line where you want to change key. Then right-click, select KeySigniture. Select key. If you select a note instead, funny things happen.

Re: Input notes without moving caret
Again, you can put notes anywhere. You can enter a ten note chord just by clicking the mouse one note at a time up the staff. Just like you would with a pencil. No need to back space or anything. The problem comes if you later decide to change a note. Then you have to enter the entire chord. Unless ...

Re: Input notes without moving caret
Also, You don't need to select the measure you want to write in, and you can ignore the caret. From the keypad select the note value you wish to use. Then go to any measure and input an entire chord. Try a C chord in quarter notes. Enter a C (the caret will move ahead), move the mouse back to an E (...

Peter,
Select the note, and without moving the mouse, right click. Select "Inspector". There you can see X and Y entries.

Re: It won't playback
So then, since the sounds never worked, I have to ask, if you installed Sibelius from DVDs, did you install all 34 gbs from all four DVDs (including the first one)? If you did then sometimes it helps to delete from (you)/AppData/Roaming/Avid/Sibelius7, the PlogueEngine folder and PlaybackConfig.xml....

Re: There is no Rewire in my sibelius 7
I don't know much about Rewire, but I have seen this;
Play/Set Up (far left, diagonal arrow)/Audio Engine Options.../Rewire repair button(if it is active). There is a chapter in the manual on Rewire. But it doesn't mean a lot to me.

Re: Weird saving behaviour?
Does Sibelius create a new file each time you save a score or will it save several scores to the same file? I've never run Sibelius on a partitioned HDD.
As a long shot, it the Repair File Associations button grayed out in the file preferences? If not, you might try that.

Re: assigning noteheads
OK. I had to kick my old XP desktop ( where Sib 6 lives)several times to get it to work, but if you select a note or group of notes then press Shift+ALT+2 , the noteheads change to diamonds. If you go to Window/Properties there is a pulldown for all the different note heads. Had you gone to the manu...
