Re: Applying text from one stave to the rest in a score.
is there anyway to have the text appear on the printed individual instrument parts without having the text appear on every single stave in the conductors score? Select the text and copy with Ctrl-C (or Mac equivalent). Now use Hide (context menu or Edit > Hide or Show ) to set "Show in Parts". Sele...

Re: Looping sections of the score.
Can a section of the score be looped continually?[/b] Are you on Sibelius 6? Try this plug-in: http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?plugin=217 If not, choose Play Loop for Sibelius 3 or Loop Selection (Sibelius 4 5 or 6) from the same source: http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/...

Re: Text and Notehead Dissapeared
My Sib 5.4 suddenly will not display any text or noteheads. You have something wrong with your Sibelius fonts. Windows or Mac? It makes a difference, since on Mac the usual fix is to run Font Finagler and sort the fonts out that way. If the problem occurs in Windows (I've never heard of it, but it ...

Re: Halfstep-only note shift with arrow keys - possible?
is there a way to redefine it to always move up or down by a halfstep only? There is a plug-in which might be helpful. Look in the Sibelius downloads page under 'Notes and Rests', Lower & Raise Pitch Chromatically http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html or use this direct link (which ju...

Re: Print issue - 2 landscape pages in 1 portrait page ?
My problem is that I want to keep my layout What you describe is just how Sibelius works. There are two ways of doing what you want: a. Print everything to file as PDF and use a PDF editor to make the final printable score OR b: Make a fresh temporary copy of the score, then make the two-systems-to...

Re: Dialogue in Musical Theater score
I am copying and pasting the dialogue from MS word. Sibelius will change the text to anything you choose, but you need to exit from Text input first (press ESC) then (with the text still shown as selected) choose the font and size from the Text pane of the Properties Window. If you want a particula...

Re: Delete time signature at the end of the staff
Un-tick "Allow cautionary" in the Time Signature dialog. To get rid of the one that's already there, insert the Time Signature again, with this box left un-ticked.vasikgreif wrote:I cannot figure out how NOT to show the time signature change at the page before

Re: Barless and restless notation
Is there a way to create scores without barlines and rests which will allow for placement of notes based on appearance . . . Not really; you might be better to do it in a graphics program. But there are ways to do some of this: 1. You can write without barlines by using long bars (to fit the music ...

Re: Text style position changes with staff size
(vertical distance increases with staff size). This is as it should be, and as designed. "Staff" size applies to all aspects of the notation. Since measurements of text position is in spaces, and spaces change with staff size, it makes sense that vertical distances will change. In addition, when fo...

Re: trill segment
Is it possible to increase the size of a trill segment symbol You can make a additional version of the Common Symbols font with House Styles > Edit Symbols > Music Fonts > Common Symbols > New . Give it a name, change the size and save. Then use House Styles > Edit Symbols to change the trill segme...

Re: Creating a custom playback system
Is there a way I can assign different playback sounds to specific noteheads? If so, can I have different playback schemes for different staves in the same score? Yes and Yes. You can 'create' a new instrument with House Styles > Edit Instruments and assign whatever noteheads you want to each sound....

. . . I just can select staves that are in neighbourhood to each other . . . Use a Multiple Selection . Re: Separating windows in (large) scores
There's already something which does this; as well as separate windows you can use Focus on Staves to work on selected staves only.Minkepatt wrote:. . . if I'm composing for two or three voices that are not near by each other . . .

pretty pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease Magical 8-bit won't work for me, but as for the others . . . have you tried rescanning? From the Play > Playback Devices dialog, choose Audio Engine Options and then Rescan . You will then need to restart Sibelius. If it finds a VSTi that works, it should then i...
