Olivier, what version of Sibelius are you using? It sounds as if the name of the plug-in inside the Double Note Values plug-in doesn't match the name on disk. If you can let me know what version you're using, I can look into this for you.

Sorry to hear you've lost Sibelius 3. If you contact our technical support team (which you do via the proper Sibelius web site, not this unofficial forum) they should be able to send you a Sibelius 3 CD-ROM. To answer your other questions: 1. Note input shortcuts changed in Sibelius 4 and they remai...

You're presumably using Sibelius on Mac. Try quitting the application, then using the Finder, going to /Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Sibelius Software/Sibelius 6. You'll see a folder in there called 'PlogueEngine': trash it and then restart Sibelius. Hopefully that should get yo...

See 'Playback Dictionary' in Help > Documentation > Sibelius 6 Reference for help on how to use the playback dictionary.

You define the effect of a word or phrase in there, and then when you type that word or phrase in the score using a text object, Sibelius does the specified playback effect.

I'd suggest running the vocal quartet in DP5 as audio tracks, and sync Sibelius to DP5 via ReWire. You can then hear Sibelius's playback via a stereo track in DP5, and the playback of the two applications will be synchronised.

Make sure that you *only* have virtual instruments activated in Play > Playback Devices. Choose 'Sibelius Essentials (32 sounds)' from the 'Configuration' menu in that dialog. If you really are using Sibelius 5.0, you should download an update to Sibelius 5.2.5 online: do Help > Check For Updates to...

The sound sets available for EWQL require the Play version and not the Kontakt version, I'm afraid. You can use the Kontakt versions, but you'll need to construct manual sound sets for them: see 'Using a multi-channel virtual instrument without a sound set' in 'Working with virtual instruments' in H...

You should use closed right-hand ends on all but the last time ending. You can create a new ending line using House Style > Edit Lines. Select the 3rd ending line in the right-hand list, click New, then Yes, then make the changes you want. Click the 'Text' radio button under 'Start' to show the dial...

If you're using Sibelius 6, simply type in the text equivalent of what you want, e.g. "Fhalfdim" or "Cm7b5" or "Csus4" and Sibelius will auto-format them for you. Even better, if you have a MIDI keyboard you can input them simply by playing them on your MIDI keyboard.

This is always related to a faulty repeats structure in your score. Make sure that you have the correct kinds of ending lines if you are using 1st and 2nd endings: the last ending line should have an open right-hand end rather than a closed right-hand end. Also make sure that if you are repeating ba...

If you're using an M-Audio Delta or Audiophile series interface on Windows Vista, then I'm afraid the only solution is to consider an upgrade to Sibelius 6.

If you're not using one of these cards or are running a different OS version, perhaps you can provide some more details about your system.

There is no change in the piano sound in Sibelius Sounds Essentials or the included GM Module in Sibelius 6.1.

Perhaps you have changed the active playback configuration in Play > Playback Devices?
