Re: Aligning 1st and 2nd endings

I don't know what version of sib you are on, but sib 7 was particubad for this. I got into the habit of pressing [ctrl]a, [ctrl][shift]n, [ctrl][shift]p. Every time I open a part. Then I would go through and make sure any voltage lines were aligned. Changes in the score would very often result in th...

Re: Delta symbol/triangle for major 7th chords

If you want the delta for all your maj7ths, go Appearance-->Engraving Rules-->Chord Symbols
Play around to your heart's content with the choices available.

Re: Undesired Tremolo on playback (not on exported audio)

You can't attach sib files to this board directly. If you zip the file, it will attach. All files of any type must be less than 1M in size.

Re: How to shift a note from one piano staff to the other

AFAIK, this should work in Sib First. Look in the manual (press F1 with a file open) it's a fully searchable pdf and has a list of keyboard shortcuts for both Mac and pc near the back.
In my ultimate version, it's on page 762

Re: Center Rests in Stave

Initially, select the measure(s) and type [ctrl][shift]p (reset position).

If that doesn't work, look at the engraving rules for rests. Change the selections (shown boxed in the attached.)

Re: using sib. without internet

I believe you can do this, but you have to 'check-in" once a month. I'm not sure what the exact procedure is, but there is a help article here: https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites.co ... -Licensing

Re: Midi output

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

If the keyboard shows up in input devices in sibelius when connected by Bluetooth, then technically it should be able to be used. However, Bluetooth is notoriously laggy and you may well find it impossible to use for input. I'd stick to wired connection.

Re: Midi output

Sibelius can only address one output device at a time. Make sure your bluetooth speakers are selected in audio engine options.

Re: Turning several songs into one document.

1. Make sure that all songs have the same instruments with the same names and in the same order. 2. Make sure each song ends with a final barline and the last bar is marked as a Section end (Use the inspector) 3. Open the first score 4. Use Append score to add the next song. Check that it has been a...

Re: scanned transposition

So much depends on the quality of the pdfs. If they are clean, computer generated pages, there should be very little work. Anything else is likely to take hours and hours of clean up. Also, there are major features missing from the free version of photoscore. Do not let PS automatically read the sco...

Re: notes all crammed together...

Firstly, this is a common problem, especially for those who tend to use layouts with 4 bars per line. Whatever you do, do NOT, under any circumstances, drag barlines around. That is opening up a world of hurt for yourself later on. Try these methods instead: 1. Reduce the size of the staff slightly ...

Re: Recovering files deleted from backup

Just a thought for future reference. Sib files, unless you bloat them by saving internal versions, are tiny. Rarely more than a couple of hundred k. Even for very long works. Increase your saved backups to 1000 or more files (I've actually got mine set to 30000). I doubt you'll actually miss the spa...

Much better to use xml or mxl from logic, although why you'd want to move from logic I don't know!

There will still be plenty of clean-up to do, it's unavoidable.

Re: WHAT TEXT TO USE?

I gave you the information you needed to set you on the path to find the complete answer. I'm not here to save you from boredom. "It's boring" is just another way of saying "I can't be bothered". How old are you, 12? The manual gives very clear and concise information about how to use text, how diff...

Re: WHAT TEXT TO USE?

Well, you know, if you can't be bothered, put up with your lack of knowledge! ANY system text will appear on all parts as well as in the score. However all the different types of system text are named. The common ones like "title", "tempo", "composer", "lyricist" etc are given names that tell you wh...
